David joined the team in 2010. He is currently a partner in the Burlington law firm Mickenberg, Dunn, Lachs and Smith. Prior to becoming an attorney David spent six years at two programs started by George Soros’ Open Society Institute, the Drug Policy Alliance, and The After School Corporation, working on policy, communications and government relations. During that time, he was engaged in legislative advocacy, government relations, and public relations efforts that involved local, statewide, national and international campaigns.

In 2005 David graduated from City University of New York School of Law, where he worked in the International Women’s Human Rights clinic and was the founder and president of the CUNY chapter of the American Constitution Society. While in law school he worked as a Law Clerk on the Senate Judiciary Committee, for the committee’s Ranking Member Senator Patrick Leahy, and as a judicial intern for Judge William K. Sessions, Chief Judge of the District Court of Vermont. Immediately following law school David served as a Dorot Fellow in Washington, DC at the Alliance for Justice, working on research and advocacy related to presidential appointees to the federal judiciary, including three Supreme Court nominations.

David graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997, where he majored in Political Science and English. Growing up in Burlington, David is also a proud product of the Burlington public school system, attending Edmunds Elementary, Edmunds Middle School, and Burlington High School. He is admitted to practice in New York State and Vermont.
