Prevailing Wage Rights

Hardworking laborers on state-funded construction jobs were underpaid. On behalf of Vermont’s building and construction trades, Necrason Group overcame industry opposition to enact a new law requiring state project workers to receive the prevailing wage, similar to the wage paid on federally-funded jobs.


Working with our clients, Necrason Group led efforts to achieve the following:

  • Enacted modernization of public education employee health insurance bargaining rights
  • Enacted workers compensation coverage for First Responders’ mental health claims
  • Enacted statutory authority for direct care workers to unionize
  • Established fair rights to basic unemployment insurance benefits
